This is a drawing I started in the fall of 2011. It's a picture of an Civil War soldier taken at Westfeild Heritage Village. It was an open house and everyone there was in full costume. This was at the end of the day and this gentleman was walking across the commons heading towards the front offices and on his way home. This is a study in the progression of the drawing. Some of the sections I would do 3 or 4 times before I would be reasonably happy with them, only then would I scan the picture. Each picture depicts 15 to 30 minutes of time spent on the drawing.
